Session Objectives:
By the end of this session participants will be able to:
1. Take a shot and aim on target.
2. Get the ball off the ground in the goals direction.
3. Add power to the shot in the correct direction.
Session Evaluation
Although I felt last weeks session went well I thought it was important that I took control this week and went back to a democratic style of coaching as the skills where more precise and differ cult. Scoring a goal is always a motivation to continue playing football (Gadston 2001) therefore I wanted to give everybody the experience of feeling intrinsically motivated by scoring in my session.
I also know that when praised by me I’m offering extrinsic motivation and I felt this was important for each individual player to feel they had performed well and to a good standard. Emma got a lot from this session and I feel she now has a basic understanding of passing, controlling and shooting which I hope she continues with over the next couple of weeks.
All session objectives where met although lifting the ball of the ground was maybe a bit to ambushes for the whole group, but generally everybody got the idea. I feel over the next two weeks I must continue motivating the team to play together and a team and help them motivate each other.
